Van!

The ONLY federal inciome tax should be for National Defense!

Ansd as foe State, it should only be enough for Police, roads, and fire.

Really...what more do we need? We can "tweak tax" anything we might need at "local level".

Instead we get state government blaming a lack of funds (handouts) on the feds.

And we get local governament blaming the State and the Feds!

I call BS! You wanna pay for a "historical" site?
Then YOU pay for it...locally.

You wanna help a business in your state? Then vote n' pay for it locally. Chances are it won't pass.

The less power the feds have, the better for liberty!

The less power that states, counties, cities have, the better for liberty!

National defense (military), Police, Fire, and basic Medical, Roads, and other ESSENTIAL services, is ALL we need to tax for!

Any non-citizens should not be included in the cost.

Yeah, that sounds cruel, but it isn't.

We have been "trained" to espect so many "free" lunches, and it's past time to put a stop and a revearsal (in many cases) to these unConstitutional taxes!

Good post, Van!USS Ben USN (Ret)https://www.blogger.com/profile/07492369604790651538noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32362551.post-64179751351000565702008-04-16T11:44:00.000-05:002008-04-16T11:44:00.000-05:00QP (what a cute chick!) said "I'll simply add ->A ...QP (what a cute chick!) said "I'll simply add ->A strong knowledge and arsenal of self-defense is also necessary."

Yep!

And I saw that article yesterday too, and very true; the states are able to take cover under the inescapeable income tax, and only those paying close attention will even notice that there is a 'state gov' (I swear a neighbor looked at me in surprise "State Senators? We have State Senators too?"), let alone whether that state does or doesn't have an income tax - not to mention the others.

The graphs he has, and more at his source site, should make people angry and ill... really wish I saw grumpier people walking around!

;-)Van Harveyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08470413719262297062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32362551.post-87452198685588790212008-04-16T11:36:00.000-05:002008-04-16T11:36:00.000-05:00Julie said "What to do? State and local receipts have doubled from about 8 percent of GDP in the mid 1950s to a peak of 17 percent in 2000 and 2005."QPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15827536245376441948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32362551.post-47384567511595147362008-04-16T08:09:00.000-05:002008-04-16T08:09:00.000-05:00Julie wrote: "What to do? Where we hoped freedom and democracy would spring up, many people instead longed for the old order which promised to care for them, poor and wretched as that care was. They were completely unprepared for individual autonomy. Thugocracy and "protection" of a different sort appear to have sprung up in the stead of freedom, in many of the former Soviet countries.

What to do? Keep teaching our kids the importance of self-reliance and personal responsibility. Sooner or later, they will need those, regardless of how our government looks in the future.juliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15975754287030568726noreply@blogger.com
