Sarah Palin calls for Rahm Emanuel to resign as White House Chief of Staff... not because he helped engineer the un-constitutional, even anti-constitutional health control takeover of our lives by the govt, not even for the Louisiana Purchase or the Cornhusker kickback... no... what Gov. Palin felt did warrant his dismissal... was... using the words "F'ing retarded".
Yeah, I know... shocking, mere graft and subverting the constitution and rule of law pales in comparison.
Give me a break. I'm sorry, but that is F'ing retarded!
Political Correctness does not become a cleaner tool in the services of a 'good' cause... the misuse of words, the distorted meanings and feigned "I'm so offended!" is, dare I say it... yes I do... Evil. Doesn't make a figs worth of difference who it's placed in the service of. Political Correctness in all of it's forms has been the chief tool of Cultural Marxism, aka "Political Correctness", and it is pure evil at it's very core, it separates our words and ideas from what is real and true, and assaults whatever is Good and Beautiful in the process.
Sorry Gov., but there are no dispensations for alleged conservatives, your attempting to use it for your purposes does nothing but strengthen Political Correctness's stranglehold on this nation, and that is, pardon my saying, fucking retarded!
Hear, Hear, her attempt to be angry at this is laughable given past conservatives defense of free speech and the ability to say what ever I would like to say.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm with you on that one. Of all the battles to pick... really? What else are you supposed to call it when people who should be of at least normal intelligence behave as though they are mentally deficient? Anyone who's going to be offended by the comparison will be offended no matter how politely it's said.
ReplyDeleteOoh... you guys are quick... you know it always takes me at least 30 min to finish putting up a post. Don't know what it is, but seeing it as a post, as opposed to the edit window makes the boo-boo's jump out at me, and, this time, the forgotten links... I put a couple origins of PC links in just now.
ReplyDeleteSo... that said... yeah, I think it is not only ridiculous but offensive!
I am offended by PC pretences of being offended, and that goes doubly so for someone claiming to uphold 'conservative' values and 'common sense'.
We'll see... and I'll definitely be watching.
Righto. Sarah doesn't have to worry about others painting her as a clown when she's doing a fine job at it all by herself.
ReplyDeleteShe's not yet ready for prime time. And never will be, I believe. I hate to say it, but there's less to Sarah than meets the eye.
In her way, she's probably as much of an egregore for conservatives as the won is for the left. There's a good reason not to place hope in politicians, regardless of whether they share our views or not: no matter who they are, they're still only human. I don't know whether she'll ever be ready for prime time, but it's apparent that there are a lot of folks who desperately want to see her as Reagan with lipstick. Or more precisely, a conservative savior. To me, that just sounds like another recipe for disaster.
ReplyDeleteI am quick because I spend nearly everyday just waiting for you to post Van. I need to read it!! I need for us to butt heads on a daily basis. :) Well mainly I just enjoy your writings.

ReplyDeleteWith apologies to F/zero, I don't buy the not ready for prime time bit, but that certainly doesn't mean an endorsement!
When she first hit I looked into what she had done (would that we could have done the same with Obamao... or better... would that people would have realized that what was there, was enough to indicate that there'd be no further there, there... but the wind blows and I digress), and she was evidently a very capable, effective, person and politician, which I termed Teddy Roosevelt in a skirt... with all of the fascinating and disastrous possibilities that conveys.
An electric personality with drive and ability... and a belief that Govt can do good. If that 'do good' is meant by bringing about it's absence... then it can be a good thing... if watched closely. If it means that Govt can actually do good, then the difference between that and proregressivism is more theoretical than actual. Her enthusiasm in the election for some sort of office for 'special needs' kids didn't give me much encouragement.
Still, given a choice between a 'well meaning' (shiver) politician, and a full blown proregressive... without much deliberation (and lack of viable alternatives), I'll take the former over the later any day.

ReplyDeleteGiven the frequency of my postings... that's a lot of dissappointing days!
;-)

ReplyDeleteOh, I absolutely agree. I don't think that it's possible she could be worse for this country; I'd like to think she'd be orders of magnitude better. The only way to know that would be to actually have her in the hot seat. Whether she'll get that far, I really have no idea.
I ho-heartedly cooncur, Van!
ReplyDeletePC speech is somethin' no conservative/classic liberal should ever champion. Period.
That bein' said, I do think Sarah can be effective behind the scenes, so to speak.
Just as long as she concentrates on conservative causes.
Van:
ReplyDeleteSlightly OT, but if you'd like to see a lefty Harvard law professor utterly eviscerated, check out the transcript of Hugh Hewitt's interview with Lawrence Lessing. I heard part of it on air last night. I only wish I'd heard the whole thing. You will enjoy this.
